Stephen R. Morrissey’s record of accomplishment as a Chief Technology Officer (CTO), digital strategist, and program manager built over his career as an executive with the Sony Corporation of America, Scholastic, Inc., New York & Co., and The Teaching Company places him among the leaders in his field. With expertise in implementing robust e-commerce and enterprise data management solutions for large, complex corporations, Morrissey is currently the CTO of Centric Digital, a leading management and digital strategy consulting firm that specializes in optimizing a company’s online ecosystem and analytical capabilities. He is primarily responsible for leading Centric Digital’s core project management team.
Prior to joining Centric Digital, Morrissey excelled as a Vice President and CTO of The Teaching Company, an $85M online educational platform that he helped develop into a $155M enterprise. His leadership in designing and rolling out the digital delivery of proprietary lectures via direct download enabled The Teaching Company to grow 20% per year during his three-year tenure. He spearheaded the company’s transformation into an aggressive player in e-commerce by focusing on internal system stability and scalability, highlighted by the adoption of Netflix-like streaming capabilities that out-maneuvered the competition. Morrissey leveraged his success as New York & Company’s Information Technology Specialist and the five years he spent as the CTO of Scholastic, Inc. where, from 2004-2009 he concentrated on building internet and e-commerce business lines that generated millions of dollars in revenue and page views.
Morrissey acquired, developed, and refined his skillset in integrating digital & online technological advances to facilitate large-scale business growth with the Sony Corporation of America. Over more than a 10-year tenure, Morrissey rose through Sony’s leadership team to ultimately earn the Vice President of Infrastructure Services and Strategic Platforms role, a position that he held for three years before pursuing a new opportunity with Scholastic. At Sony, Morrissey led organizational restructuring and business transformation initiatives and worked across function to build digital content management, enterprise internet hosting, and global network applications. Earlier in his career, Morrissey served as the Vice President of Networks & Technology for Sony Music Entertainment, Inc. and as the Director of Technical Services for Sony Corporation during which time he directed data center consolidation, restructuring, and strategy formulation projects.

Morrissey graduated from Husson College in Maine with a degree in Business Administration and Information Technology. Away from the office he is an avid marathon runner, golfer, and skier. He is married and has four children.
